Vin de Liqueurs
Vin de Liqueur (VDL) is a sweet, fortified wine product made by adding high-proof brandy (or local spirit) to unfermented fruit juice (must). This process, called mutage, stops fermentation immediately, preserving the grape's natural sweetness and resulting in a rich, non-sparkling beverage typically enjoyed as an apéritif. Famous examples include Pineau des Charentes and Floc de Gascogne.
