Description
Discover the allure of A Mano Negroamaro 2020, an exceptional red wine hailing from the stunning region of Puglia, Italy. This wine is a true representation of its terroir, crafted from 100% Negroamaro grapes nurtured in a single vineyard that boasts an 11-hectare expanse in the heart of Salice Salentino. The old vines, with an age range of 30 to 60 years, are cultivated on sandy soils using dry farming techniques, ensuring a rich and concentrated flavor profile. The 2020 vintage presented unique challenges, with minimal winter rainfall and an unusually cool spring, ultimately giving way to a season marked by careful vineyard management. The result is an exquisite wine that captures the essence of its origins. Experience the compelling characteristics of this vintage, as it greets you with a deep ruby red hue in the glass. The nose is a captivating bouquet of:
- Crushed blackberries
- Dried cherries
- Warm spices
- A gentle floral note
- Ripe black cherry
- Plum
- Bittersweet almond
- A long finish with hints of licorice and tobacco
- Serve at a slightly chilled temperature of around 14-16°C to accentuate its fresh fruit character.
- Pair beautifully with dishes such as grilled lamb skewers or a rustic aubergine caponata, which enhance its Mediterranean notes.
- Craft a delightful charcuterie board laden with aged pecorino, black olives, sun-dried tomatoes, and fig preserves for a savory-sweet experience.
- Consider using this wine as a base for a sophisticated red wine spritzer, blending three parts wine with one part sparkling water, garnished with an orange twist.
- For dessert, pair it with dark chocolate truffles dusted with espresso powder to contrast the wine’s rich notes.

Storage advice
For storing red wine keep the temperature consistently between 55°F and 65°F (13°C to 18°C) to ensure balanced aging without premature maturation or muted flavors. Avoid fluctuations outside this range especially temperatures above 70°F which can damage the wine’s quality.
Store the bottle lying on its side to keep the cork moist and prevent air ingress. Maintain a humidity level around 70% to prevent cork drying and shrinking which can allow oxidation.
Minimize light exposure by storing the wine in a dark place or wine cellar as sunlight can heat the bottle and degrade the wine.
For unopened bottles ensure sealing is intact and avoid vibrations or sudden temperature changes which can accelerate spoilage.
Once opened reseal tightly using the original cork or a wine stopper and store the bottle refrigerated at around 40-45°F (4-7°C) to slow oxidation. Let the wine warm to serving temperature (60-65°F) before drinking.
