Description

Bosio Arneis Langhe Bianco, from Cantine Bosio founded in 1967, is a deliciously accessible white wine - a light, crisp Arneis with hints of preserved lemon and grapefruit.

Cantine Bosio, founded in 1967 by Angela and Egidio, produced their first wine from vineyards nestled amongst the hills of Langhe. Today, the winery has expanded to work with a number of trusted local growers alongside their own vineyards. Wines are made from across the Langhe region, yet still vinified in small parcels to maximise quality. The wines display great varietal character while being made in a modern, accessible style. The Bosio wines are some of the best value from Piemonte.

The vineyards are located in the Langhe on clay-limestone soils. Arneis is and indigenous  white grape of Piedmont. It enjoys hillsode vineyards such as those of the Langhe, where it reaches maximum expression.

A 36 hour cold soak on skins for texture ans stability is followed by a 15 day fermentation in steel tank to retain freshness. Then the wine is aged on its own lees for 6 months.

Grape: 100% Arneis

Tasting Note: Crisp, unoaked dry white with hints of grapefruit, lemon zest and almond with good body and a touch of fennel on the finish.

Food Match: Ideal as an aperitif, with salads or with or grilled fish.

Closure: Diam Cork

Farming Practices: Vegan - Contains Sulfites

Serving suggestions

Here are some creative and unique serving suggestions to enjoy this white wine in interesting ways:

- Citrus & Herb White Wine Spritz: Combine chilled white wine with sparkling water over crushed ice. Add a twist by garnishing with thin slices of blood orange fresh thyme sprigs and a lemon zest curl for an aromatic refreshing spritz ideal for summer garden parties.

- White Wine & Green Tea Cooler: Brew a lightly chilled jasmine green tea and mix it half-and-half with the white wine. Serve over ice with a star anise and a sprig of mint for a delicate floral infusion perfect for brunch or afternoon sipping.

- Pair with Truffle Mushroom Arancini: Serve the white wine slightly chilled alongside crispy truffle mushroom risotto balls (arancini) that are garnished with microgreens and a drizzle of garlic aioli. This elevates the pairing beyond common cheese or seafood.

- Savory White Wine Jelly Shots: Use the white wine to craft elegant savory gelatin shots flavored with rosemary and a hint of lemon zest served in clear shot glasses with a sprig of rosemary for a chic appetizer at cocktail parties.

- Chilled White Wine & Cucumber Soup Shooter: Serve small shooter glasses of cold cucumber and fresh dill soup with a splash of the white wine stirred in just before serving. Garnish each with a thin cucumber ribbon for a sophisticated amuse-bouche.

- Pairing for Asian-Inspired Fresh Spring Rolls: Serve the wine chilled alongside fresh rice paper spring rolls filled with shrimp mint cilantro and pickled vegetables. Accompany with a zesty ginger-lime dipping sauce to bring out the wine’s vibrant notes.

- Frozen White Wine Granita with Basil: Freeze the white wine with a splash of elderflower syrup and fresh basil leaves scraping every hour to form icy crystals. Serve in small bowls garnished with basil flowers for a refreshing palate cleanser or summer dessert alternative.

- Occasion Idea: Ideal for art gallery openings or outdoor soirée dinners where delicate creative presentation complements the modern atmosphere—serve in stemless glasses with edible flower petals floating on top for visual allure.

These suggestions emphasize distinct fresh presentation ideas and unexpected food pairings to highlight the wine's versatility and sophistication.

Storage advice

For optimal storage of dry white wine such as Arneis maintain a consistent temperature between 45°F and 55°F (7-13°C) ideally closer to the lower end of this range to preserve its delicate aromas. Avoid temperature fluctuations which can cause the cork to loosen or wine to spoil.

Store the bottle on its side to keep the cork moist preventing it from drying out and allowing oxygen to enter which causes oxidation. Maintain humidity between 60% and 70% which balances cork moisture without fostering mold or dryness.

Protect the bottle from light especially direct or UV exposure by storing it in a dark place or a wine cellar without windows to prevent premature aging and spoilage.

For an unopened bottle these conditions maintain optimal quality and extend shelf life. For an opened bottle reseal tightly with the original cork or a wine stopper and refrigerate promptly at the same cool temperature (around 45°F) to slow oxidation and preserve freshness for a few days.

Avoid storing wine near heat sources (ovens radiators) or in places prone to vibration or extreme cold (freezers or icy garages).

In summary consistent cool temperature (45-55°F) adequate humidity (60-70%) horizontal bottle position darkness and gentle handling are key practical steps to best preserve dry white wine quality in both unopened and opened states.
