Storage advice
For optimal storage of Champagne maintain a consistent temperature between 10°C and 12°C (50°F – 54°F) to avoid damage from heat or temperature fluctuations. Avoid exposing the bottle to rapid temperature changes which can expand and contract the cork risking leakage or spoilage.
Keep the bottle in a humid environment with 60–70% humidity to prevent cork drying (which can let in air and deteriorate quality) and avoid excess moisture that causes mold on the cork and label.
Store Champagne away from light preferably in a dark place or a wine cooler with no light exposure because light can degrade flavor and quality.
The bottle should be stored on its side to keep the cork moist maintaining its seal and preventing oxidation.
Avoid vibrations or movement which may prematurely age the Champagne and disturb its delicate bubbles.
For unopened bottles use a wine fridge or cellar with controlled temperature and humidity as above. For opened bottles reseal tightly with a proper Champagne stopper to preserve carbonation and store in the refrigerator at a slightly cooler temperature consuming within 1–3 days for best quality (though this is outside optimal long-term storage).
Avoid strong odors or drafts near the storage area as scents can penetrate the cork and affect the Champagne’s aroma and taste.
