Storage advice
To optimally store Blended Whisky maintain a consistent temperature ideally between 15 to 20°C (59 to 68°F) to avoid evaporation and preserve flavor integrity; do not refrigerate or freeze the bottle as extreme cold can cause cloudiness or damage the seal.
Light exposure should be minimized by keeping the bottle in a dark place away from direct sunlight or strong artificial light as ultraviolet rays can degrade the whisky and fade the label.
Always store the bottle upright to prevent prolonged contact between the high-alcohol liquid and the cork which could degrade the seal and affect flavor. Avoid storing whisky on its side unlike wine bottles.
Maintain a dry environment with moderate humidity; excess humidity can damage labels and promote cork deterioration while very dry conditions may cause cork drying. However extreme humidity should be avoided.
For unopened bottles keep them sealed tightly and stored in stable conditions as above. For opened bottles minimize oxygen contact to slow oxidation and evaporation: keep the cap tightly sealed store upright and if less than a third of the bottle remains consider transferring the whisky into a smaller airtight bottle to reduce air exposure.
Avoid using decanters for long-term storage since most glass stoppers are not airtight accelerating oxidation; decanters are mainly for aesthetic serving purposes.
